This Group includes Yapham, Allerthorpe, Barmby Moor, Fangfoss, and Thornton and Melbourne. The Group’s priest is the Reverend Mark Poole, telephone number 01759 304672. Services at St. Martin’s, Yapham, are suspended due to health and safety concerns of the building. St. Martin’s Church, Yapham Cum Meltonby
St. Martin’s Church stands back from the main road through Yapham and was mentioned together with the Church of Pocklington and the other churches in the Soke by Henry I (1101-1135). It was rebuilt in 1777-8 and restored in 1904. It is a Grade II* listed building. In 1989 St. Martin’s left the parish of Pocklington and became part of the Barmby Moor Benefice, which now comprises five churches.
